MORE ABOUT YOUR CURATOR,
Hannah Jew
FAVORITE GAME
My friends actually created a game called Medium. It’s seriously the most fun.
PREFERRED ADULT BEVERAGE
Moscow Mule
BEST VACATION DESTINATION
So far, I’d have to say Italy. The most beautiful scenery + the most beautiful people + the most delicious food.
CURRENTLY READING
Chanel Miller’s book, Know My Name, is riveting. Her voice is so powerful, and she’s an incredible writer. It’s truly a story that I think everyone should read. Also, have you seen her animated video? Gives me hope.
MOST LOVED PODCAST
I love Off Camera with Sam Jones. He talks to famous actors, artists, and creators about how they got their start, what drives them, and what ticks them off. He also takes stunning photos of his interviewees.
THE WORD
(BRIEF BITS OF INBOX INSPIRATION BROUGHT TO YOU BY)
Hey there! Big thanks to Rosie and Faris for handing me the reins for this issue of Genius Steals! I’m a Strategy Director at Ologie, a branding and marketing agency in Columbus, Ohio. I first met Rosie and Faris when they popped into the office to teach us a thing or two, and I’ve been hooked on this newsletter ever since.
A little more about me: my last name is pronounced ‘Joe’ - it’s a long story involving an immigration officer. My maiden name means ‘storyteller’ in Hebrew, which I take as a good sign from the universe that I’m on the right path. My hometown is Austin, Texas and I went to UT (Hook ‘em!), though I’ve lived in Columbus for the past 8 years. I’m into world travel, craft breweries, gardening, and chasing after my tiny human. I also know way too many useless facts about celebrities. Now, onto the good stuff.
“You have to meet every kind of person and endlessly stretch what you know.”

Everlast is First
#BeFirst #Transgender #BoxingAndBranding
In Everlast’s newest campaign, Be First, the brand breaks boundaries by featuring transgender athlete Patricio Manuel, the first transgender boxer to compete professionally. Patricio’s got a fascinating story and I’m so excited that Everlast is embracing the diversity of athletes everywhere with this campaign, especially as a brand that many would think of as being traditionally ‘masculine.’ I loved Patricio’s final quote in the article; he says, “I really hope it pushes other companies to think outside the box. This world is so incredibly diverse, we all deserve to have our identities and stories highlighted." ::CNN::
Savage X Thrivers
#BreastCancerAwareness #RealStories #Rihanna
It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and you know what that means: a slew of brands coming out with pink products in a thinly veiled attempt to profit off of our empathy. However, here comes Rihanna to reinstate our faith in humanity. She’s rocking the runway and makeup counters with her collections that are designed for every person of every background, shape, and color. Now, she’s shining a light on breast cancer by highlighting survivors and their stories as models for her new collection. ::GLAMOUR::
Comedy Wildlife
#Conservation #PenguinsGoneWild #MonkeyingAround
There’s a lot of serious stuff happening in the world, so how about a little levity? Every year, there’s a national competition for the most hilarious wildlife photos, called The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards. It’s meant to bring attention to conservation efforts around the world. If you haven’t checked these images out, they are sure to bring some joy to your day. My personal favorite is the otter making the iconic face from Home Alone. My brother is a zookeeper so luckily I see videos of animals being ridiculous all the time, but these are at a whole different level. I dare you not to laugh. ::2019 FINALISTS::
Here’s a gorgeous view of Manarola from my trip to Italy in May. If you’ve never been to the Cinque Terre, it’s pretty magical.
As Ellen DeGeneres says, be kind to one another. Find me on Instagram or LinkedIn, and if you’re ever in Columbus, let’s hang out!
