Heya, I'm Kristy and I met Rosie & Faris during my MA Advertising degree. I'm currently a Junior Account Manager at Dark Horses, and in my free time I knit and read like a little old lady!
Editor’s Note (Team Genius Steals): Over the years, we've worked with Paul Caplan who is a Course Leader MA Advertising at London College of Communication. This year we're so excited to be introducing you to some of the students who've recently participated in his program. Their dissertations were thought provoking and have us excited about the future minds of our industry. Thanks for curating some great links, Kristy!

REMIX 2.0: HOW CAN WE USE REMIX TO SOLVE THE ATTENTION PROBLEM IN ADS?
This was the dissertation I wrote for my MA Advertising degree. I absolutely loved the experience and process of discovering more about Remix in different contexts and exploring the idea of applying it in the advertising industry. This paper is interactive, so feel free to click through the hyperlinked pages to learn more and Remix your own reading experience! (Kristy Poh)
STEAL LIKE AN ARTIST BY AUSTIN KLEON
This was the book that inspired my dissertation and propelled my creative journey in advertising. It outlines 10 key principles to boost creativity, and is illustrated and written in an easily digestible manner. I highly recommend this to anyone who feels like they're in a creative rut, or would like something to always fall back on when they're feeling uninspired. (Steal Like an Artist)
RENEWING CREATIVE TRAINING
I stumbled upon this article recently and resonated with this as someone who struggled adjusting from a strong science and business background to learning creative practice. I personally struggled picking up skills in my creative training, and exploring a new method seems like it could help loads of others enter the creative industry. (Contagious)

It's called Genius Steals because we believe ideas are new combinations and that nothing can come from nothing. But copying is lazy. We believe the best way to innovate is to look at the best of that which came before and combine those elements into new solutions.
Co-Founders Faris & Rosie are award-winning strategists and creative directors, writers, consultants and public speakers who have been living on the road/runway since March 2013, working with companies all over the world. Our Director of Operations is nomadic like us, our accounting team is based out of Washington, our company is registered in Tennessee, and our collaborators are all over the world. Being nomadic allows us to go wherever clients need us to be, and to be inspired by the world in between.
