:: WHAT’S NEW & WEEKLY GRATITUDE ::
We have reveled in some London sun (Rosie continues to be happy she’s wrong about the weather), spent time with family and met some brand new members thereof, surprised an NY friend for his birthday (HBD, TY!!), did a planning session with one client and a workshop with another (in person!), bumped into a couple people, and just moved to stay with our friends nearer the river. There is never enough time in London but we are trying.
This week, we’re especially thankful for:
Dishoom, London tubes, the new Max Frost album, Colin&Ashley, Abdulla, Nikki&Jason, Ty&Alayna, an epic 80s-themed surprise 50th birthday party, Ian, Anto&Ro&Leo, Kamal&Amal+allthefam, delicious Arabic food, London in the sun (mostly), WARC, Ivan+Mike+Katie, all our family & YOU.

SHIFT YOUR VIBE - 60 QUICK WAYS TO MAKE YOURSELF SLIGHTLY HAPPIER
Who doesn’t love a good list of lifehacks for happiness? This is a nice one with a humble, protopian, claim, that any of these might make you just a little bit happier. From the particular, to the abstract, these are quotidian ideas to spice up your life, a tiny bit. Change a font, go outside, eat more salad, get a mirror, film a party, and, of course, listen to country music! “It might save your life: in a University of Maryland Medical Center study, participants who listened to country music found their blood vessels dilated, increasing blood flow and leading to better cardiovascular health.” (Guardian)
FACE THE STRANGE
Faris’ column considers why it’s hard to face the strange, the common client conundrum 'give me something that has never been done before, but show me it will work' and why purpose begins at home. (MediaCat)
ABBY WAMBACH’S GRADUATION SPEECH AT LOYALA MARYMOUNT
The speech is inspiring, and not just relevant for graduates. She reminds us that in leadership there’s a lot instead of showing up to tables, we should be flipping them. And she gives us a few specific ways to do that. For exa - Abby points out that during Pride month, brands and companies are excited to partner with her, or to use her name and likeness. The first thing she does is ask for the company’s history related to pride and LGBTQ+ support: from campaign donations to queer leaders and salaries. She goes on to give us some other specific examples of how we can flip the tables, whether we’re in the boardroom or on the sports fields.

It's called Genius Steals because we believe ideas are new combinations and that nothing can come from nothing. But copying is lazy. We believe the best way to innovate is to look at the best of that which came before and combine those elements into new solutions.
Co-Founders Faris & Rosie are award-winning strategists and creative directors, writers, consultants and public speakers who have been living on the road/runway since March 2013, working with companies all over the world. Our Director of Operations is nomadic like us, our accounting team is based out of Washington, our company is registered in Tennessee, and our collaborators are all over the world. Being nomadic allows us to go wherever clients need us to be, and to be inspired by the world in between.
