THE WORD | THESE BRIEF BITS OF INBOX INSPIRATION BROUGHT TO YOU BY...
Tacos, tacos, and more tacos from Mexico City; delicious fine dining at Pujol, some silly escapades on the boats of Xochimilco, Maria's birthday dinner, reggaeton at Cafe Paraiso, masterful hosting by Claire, family style shares at Maximo Bistrot, and countless memories with my wonderful travel family!
WHAT WE'RE THINKING ABOUT | TRAVEL WELLNESS
Ashley, here. As many of you know, I'm also nomadic, so I'm piggy-backing off of what Faris and Rosie had to say about travel wellness.
I was just recently in a bit of an opposite boat from them. I was in Mexico City where it's not super easy to stay healthy given the abundance of delicious tacos and some skepticism towards washing and eating lettuce and other veggies due to water issues.
Rosie and Faris mention the difficulty of travel days. Now, my travel friends and I always admit up front that travel days are cheat days. When crossing timezones and engorging on lounge eats, you often consume more than is probably necessary. Sure, fasting might help with jetlag, but when you travel as often as we do, you have to do what feels right for you. If that's eating whatever's in sight, do you, boo!
Each time you go somewhere new, there are always adjustments. Most of us endure some stomach uneasiness, but that's the price of being able to live on the road. Instead of going out to eat all the time, I try to balance things out by cooking at home or finding a nearby gym to workout from -- simple ways to maintain a sense of normalcy and routine while traveling.
It's all about learning to accept this as a lifestyle and not a vacation - that means being okay in indulging in the local culture or staying at home to Netflix and chill. We don't need to live in fast forward or do what the people around us are doing all the time.

The New Dot Com: Online Advertising
#OnlineAdvertising #DigitalAds #ScienceNotArt
2018 saw $273 billion spent on digital ads globally. Most of those ads were purchased from Google and Facebook. It's become a numbers game. Hard data didn't use to exist. Advertising was an art, not a science, but what do we really know about the effectiveness of digital advertising? ::THE CORRESPONDENT::
Mr. Nice Guy
#MrRogers #TomHanks #HollywoodNiceGuys
In today's world, it seems we find more unpleasant people than pleasant people. Tom Hanks is playing Mr. Rogers in the upcoming film, "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood". Turns out Hanks is nearly as good and friendly as his 'character'. This journalist goes on quite an adventure with the actor and dissects how opposite he is from many in Hollywood and why we need more people like him. ::THE NEW YORK TIMES::
ICYMI: Learning the Right Lessons From Adidas
#BalancedMedia #Structures #Incentives
Adidas’ global media director bravely spoke about their mistake in over-investing in digital and performance marketing and under investing in brand. So far, so obvious. The real question is why? Faris wrote this article for the Economic Times of India to see if we can learn something more interesting about the organizational conditions that lead to such decisions. ::ECONOMIC TIMES BRAND EQUITY::
