Oh hi there! Fancy seeing you here ;)
This is an interruption to our regularly scheduled programming.
We hope you’ll bear with us.
Tomorrow we officially open enrollment for The School of Stolen Genius, our #ELCOT. Experiential Learning Community Of Tomorrow. Like EPCOT, but not.
Typically, we sell our services to big companies and big brands. “Fewer, bigger projects” was our motto when we started Genius Steals. We set our rates and raised our sails, and it was all going well. Except that living nomadically means that community is hard. And some weeks felt like a never-ending networking event, where we answered the same questions about our nomadic lifestyle, and living out of carry-on luggage.
In November of last year, when our wifi went down in India, we started talking about building community. What we’ve done, and what we could do. And while there are many scribbled ideas in Rosie’s notebook, this was one we kept coming back to. Each day, we had a new idea, a new thought. About challenging conventions when it came to learning. About bringing in teachers outside our discipline. About connecting creative thinkers around the world.
Amidst all the excitement, there were also doubts. Eventually the doubts were quelled through conversations, or enough so that we were ready to begin. And just when we thought we were ready to rock, shit hit the fan: The platform we chose wasn’t as intuitive as we hoped. Our designer was going through a divorce and needed to step away from the project. COVID hit, and people started talking about ZOOM fatigue.
But amidst the chaos, there’s been plenty of positivity. The platform took some getting used to, but it’s going to work — and the dev team there are working on some of our feature requests. And while some are talking of ZOOM fatigue, we’ve tested the waters with improv games over ZOOM, and Out-of-Office hours, and found that it’s not ZOOM that’s boring, it’s just the people running the ZOOMs. There are many things we’re not, and boring is one of them ;)
The School of Stolen Genius is an alchemical experiment. We know that there’s magic in recombination. The same is lame. Ideas are new and novel combinations. Diverse inputs lead to the best outputs. You are your ideas, after all.
Membership is $25/month, and you’ll have access to our growing library of tools, templates, book reviews, and expert interviews. The templates our clients pay thousands for us to develop will be yours to use, to bring the magic to life in your own organizations.
Apprenticeship is $50/month. For that extra $25/month, you’ll have access to the live elements of the community. Instead of just accessing the recorded video, you’ll have the opportunity to attend the webinar and ask your own questions. You’ll get invites to our Out-of-Office Hours, and Book Club.
We’re giving you $10 off your monthly tuition, but only until midnight tomorrow. Once we post the video from our first official session, the discount will turn off.
YESPLEASE is your coupon code. If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to join, this is it: $15/month for Membership, or $40/month if you’re looking for that live element that comes with Apprenticeship.
We appreciate your support, and we’re thankful for any posts or positive vibes — Every little bit helps, especially during these crazy days. We promise to make this as awesome as possible, and we look forward to hearing from you how we can make this even better.

:: LOOKING FOR ANOTHER REASON? ::
“The greatest talent challenge facing the marketing industry today is the lack of effective training opportunities and educational resources. Unlike law, medicine or engineering, we simply do not have enough practical learning environments for future marketers or for those already in the business who wish to update their skill sets.” - CEO, 360i
The Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that advanced education of any kind increases your income by thousands of dollars a year.
Plus, people who make time for learning at work are 21% more likely to be happy than those who don’t.
Of those who invest in continuing education opportunities, 65% say their learning expanded their professional network, 47% say it helped them advance within their current company, 29% say it helped them find a new job and 27% say it helped them consider a different career path.
Creativity isn’t entirely a fixed, inborn trait; it’s an aperture that can be opened or closed.
The principal and most enduring mechanism for distribution of wealth and reduction in inequality is the diffusion of skills and knowledge.
If we can ever be of help to you, even outside of a formal engagement, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Thanks for supporting us, today and always.

It's called Genius Steals because we believe ideas are new combinations and that nothing can come from nothing. But copying is lazy. We believe the best way to innovate is to look at the best of that which came before and combine those elements into new solutions.
Co-Founders Faris & Rosie are award-winning strategists and creative directors, writers, consultants and public speakers who have been living on the road/runway since March 2013, working with companies all over the world. Our Director of Operations is nomadic like us, our accounting team is based out of Washington, our company is registered in Tennessee, and our collaborators are all over the world. Being nomadic allows us to go wherever clients need us to be, and to be inspired by the world in between.
Hit reply and let’s talk about how we might be able to work together :)
