@rosie Look into KINSTRETCH - specifically Neck and Shoulder 'C.A.R.s'. It'll be a great addition to your yoga practice.

I did look up Kinstretch / neck& shoulder CARs and was comforted bc all of the videos I watched were stretches I was already doing and that feel great. I actually just went to my first physical therapy appointment today! Apparently my mobility is excellent, but my right shoulder is weaker than my left and so I've been given some strength-building exercises!

Do not chicken neck on your cellphone, Ipad, book, or PC. Stretch slowly at your desk slowly. After stretching in four directions try to gently use resistance on four sides of your head. The pain is excruciating at the base of your neck by the backbone. Beware of meds. Alternate heat and ice. Comfort is the key. Sleep well at night. I used a foam formed pillow for months to relieve the pain. I use a bamboo pillow now and add the formed pillow for reading in bed. I pray for comfort and feeling better for Rosie and her friends. Best wishes, Hawk

Thank you, Hawk! I switched pillows about a year ago to something firm and it was so helpful -- but unfortunately sleeping on it in a weird position (on the pillow!) was what triggered the most recent episode. It was so helpful until it wasn't, ha. But I did get a computer stand to help me so that I'm not looking down so much, and just went to a physical therapy appointment today. I'm hoping that as I rebuild strength, I'll end up I a better place!

Love it! Yes, definitely feel more pain on days when I sit more. Haven't gotten the perfect setup yet, but I do have a computer stand that I love. Now I need a keyboard and a mouse because a laptop stand without those things just makes it feel worse rather than better, ha.
